Dealing with tree species: five techniques

Replicability, inheritability, mnemonics, maps and linkage. Species, the acads way.

  1. Replicability: 5 or 6 points can be reused entirely, or with minimal changes, for almost every species. Memorise them and use them widely.
  2. Inheritability: the species in the IFoS syllabus fall into 4 or 5 categories with similar characteristics. Get five species free with one.
  3. Mnemonics: find facts hard to memorise? Everyone does. Use mnemonics and memory tricks.
  4. Maps and diagrams: sometimes you need maps to fill pages. Prepare them well.
  5. Linkage with other portions: it helps you generate additional points and extra marks.
