How to fail in the IFoS optionals
One sure way to fail in the IFoS optionals is to prepare them like CSE optionals.
One sure-shot way to fail in the IFoS optionals is to prepare them like CSE optionals. Seems counter-intuitive? Let us explain.
In CSE, any successful candidate gives the optional at least 8 to 10 months, so they manage to cover every part of the syllabus. PYQs and resources are easy to find, and everyone does 5 to 10 years of PYQs.
On the acads Pyramid of Marks, CSE candidates operate at Levels 3 and 4.
Not so in the IFoS optionals. Even Forestry toppers complete hardly 70 to 80% of the syllabus. PYQs and the right resources are not easy to find. So if you just complete the PYQs properly, you are already the topper. IFoS optional candidates operate at Levels 1 and 2.
Following the CSE approach doesn’t just weaken your chances; it ruins them.
Three simple steps to ace IFoS
- Brainstorm 10 years of PYQs.
- Have compact notes.
- Write 2 full-length tests.
Easy, isn’t it?
