Theme-wise preparation for IFoS interviews
Don’t chase every news story. Prepare around the themes boards keep returning to.
It is tempting to cover every piece of news. That approach often does more harm than good. Prepare around the themes UPSC boards favour, such as man-animal conflict, growth versus conservation and climate change, and link them with current affairs, static knowledge and your own background.
What makes a current affairs topic relevant for your interview
- Recent frequency: how often it has appeared recently.
- Static importance: how relevant it is to the IFoS syllabus.
- Your background: if you worked in the state forest service of Madhya Pradesh, tiger relocation matters much more for you.
