Five things to remember on Prelims day
- Expect at least 50 questions you have little or no idea about. The good thing is, it is the same for everyone. Don’t panic.
- Aspirants lose more marks to false negatives than false positives. Think carefully before eliminating a statement.
- Where you’re not sure what UPSC would mark, go with what the majority of selected candidates would mark.
- You may not recall the facts in 3 or 4 questions. That is natural. Don’t panic.
- Prelims is about taking a decision after weighing all the information you have. Use all your prior and passive knowledge and pick the option most likely to be right. Repeat for 100 questions.
